Course Format
The Diabetes Core Curriculum Workshop is a nationally recognized continuing education program for healthcare professionals. We are dedicated to helping diabetes educators achieve excellence in patient self-management education. The workshop is presented over four days and includes 2-3 lectures per day covering the content of the Certified Diabetes Educator exam and some of the content on the Board-Certified Advanced Diabetes Management exam.
For specific information on course content, view the Participant Objectives.
Our nationally recognized faculty create and deliver their own lectures which are updated before each course. Most of our faculty are clinicians actively working with patients and other healthcare educators. They manage patients and provide educational lectures to healthcare professionals on a regular basis.
Workshop - The workshop is presented in a supportive, relaxed environment. Our certified instructors have adequate time to lecture on their topic, discuss case studies, answer participant questions, and review the eight self-assessment exams that are given. Throughout each session, critical thinking is encouraged by our dynamic teaching methods.
Networking - The four day structure of this course will give you the opportunity to interact with colleagues and view corporate product exhibits. We are thankful for many of our exhibitors who return every year: Animas, Better Living Now, Eli Lilly, Insulet, Roche Diagnostics, Siemens Diagnostics, and many others.
Study Manual - a comprehensive reference tool containing 400+ pages will serve as a handy reference tool and will assist you in studying after the workshop. The manual is updated by our faculty before each course. Our students always receive the most recent information on current diabetes concepts, management tools, and techniques.
