Terry Gray, NP, PhD is a Certified Adult Nurse Practitioner and Certified Diabetes Educator and is presently the Associate Director of the Diabetes Center of Excellence at NUMC. Dr. Gray has her PhD in “Physiological Nursing” from the University of Utah. In her medical practice, Terry has been involved with patient management and professional education since 1990.

Her past experiences include, among others, the position of Coordinator of the Diabetes Self-Management Training Programs at North Shore University Hospital and Long Island Jewish Medical Center. Dr. Gray coordinated their development and achieved recognition for both programs from the American Diabetes Association.

In her role as clinician and educator, Dr. Gray has been responsible for the care of multiple persons with Type 1, Type 2, gestational and other forms of diabetes. Dr. Gray maintains a clinical practice and is involved in community programs. She has been active in developing and presenting patient-oriented programs focused upon the care and treatment of established diabetes as well as programs oriented to identifying pre-diabetes with the hopes of stemming the progression to Type 2 diabetes.

In addition, Dr. Gray presents professional level lectures to various members of the diabetes circle including registered nurses, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, physicians and registered dietitians. Dr. Gray is an active member of the American Association of Diabetes Educators. She also holds membership in the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the American Diabetes Association.
