   Interested in reading additional information on diabetes subjects? We have compiled a Diabetes Supplemental Reading List (pdf). This list includes resources from the ADA, AADE and a few books we have found helpful in discussing diabetes topics.

   Staff at the Wall Street Journal reviewed health-oriented mobile apps in 2011. To see the full list of 14 apps, click here. Most of the apps are free or low cost and can be used with BlackBerry, iPhone, iPad, and Android devices. Sample apps include: Calorie Counter (scan labels and log what you eat), RunKeeper Pro (track running stats) and Relax (guided meditations).

   For Veterans:    The Department of Veteran Affairs has approved reimbursement for the Certification Examination for Diabetes Educators. Veterans and other qualified individuals can now request reimbursement for the cost of the exam by using their GI education benefits.
